Homoeopathic leaders seek digital partnership

Nelsons were looking for a long-term partner to support their direct to consumer digital strategy. Starting with the Nelsons Homeopathic Pharmacy website, this project focuses on creating a new Shopify site to improve sales and back-end efficiency. It was important for the website design to reflect Nelson’s 160 year heritage, while also positioning them as contemporary and appealing to a younger audience.

A key part of Nelsons USP is their ‘made to order’ service. This unique offering allows customers to speak to a consultant and get personalised advise on the best remedy or products to suit their needs.

This new service would launch on the new website, creating an opportunity and potential for increased sales and loyalty through the perception of personalised service we expect in traditional bricks and mortar shops. As Nelsons are known for their incredible customer service in the homoeopathic industry, they were keen to reflect this on their online store.

Our remedy, prescribed

We identified Shopify as the best eCommerce platform as it has an easy to manage back-end, is scalable, and has the capabilities to create a beautiful site reflecting the prestigious Mayfair location of the pharmacy.

New feature responsible for 30% of all sales!

The Nelsons site has been built on Shopify, allowing updates and changes to be made easily with the ability to scale with the growth of the business. The website’s clean design reflects Mayfair sophistication and natural medicine, using a colour palette of green and beige. A modern update to an established brand with a history to be admired.

Nelsons ‘made to order’ functionality and ‘ask an expert’ form are perfect for customers who want the personalised shopping experience available in the Mayfair store with the convenience of online retail. This takes the pressure off of the team to handle all custom orders and queries in-store or over the phone. Today, ‘made to order’ items are Nelsons highest selling products by far, equal to around 30% of their total sales. This is an incredible result when considering that custom orders could not be placed on the old website.

The team also arranged training sessions for staff fulfilling these orders ensuring Nelsons could be confident in using their new system. Nelsons has a reputation for their unrivalled customer service so it was crucial that their online store became an extension of this.
